CBIM 2024 Special Track Call: B2B Dynamics in Emerging Economies: Catalysts for Economic Development


This year’s annual conference of the Center for Business and Industrial Marketing is putting together a special session related to B2B in emerging economies and economic development. We are delighted to invite researchers and practitioners focused on B2B marketing within the emerging market context, to contribute and help shape the global conversations in this area by submitting their original research papers, case studies, and emergent conceptual ideas to the conference.

CBIM 2024 will be hosted by the University of Graz from June 12–14, 2024, in the beautiful city of Graz. Located in the Austrian Styria region, Graz is home to vibrant B2B ecosystems such as mobility, space, logistics, and a vibrant research community.

This session welcomes paper proposals on a wide range of topics related to B2B Dynamics in Emerging Economies: Catalysts for Economic Development. We also welcome various conceptual and methodological (qualitative, quantitative) perspectives. Potential topics with an emerging market focus could explore (but are not limited to) the topics suggested below:

• Buying centre formation, dynamics, and economic outcomes
• The impact of institutional context on B2B firm behaviours
• B2B as a driver for industrialization and supply chain resilience
• Innovation and knowledge transfer mechanisms and practices in B2B firms
• Digitization, technology within B2B and economic development (Data, AI, crypto, etc)
• B2B value chains, networks, ecosystems and economic growth
• How are social media and other digital practices shaping B2B firm behaviour?
• How are social-cultural factors influencing B2B?
• Regulatory and policy frameworks for supporting B2B emergence
• B2B within Informal, micro and SMEs
• B2B within Multinational and transnational companies
• B2B Marketing communications and economic development
• Sustainability, B2B dynamics and economic growth
• Human capital development, B2B dynamics and economic growth
• B2B collaborations in the internationalisation of emerging market firms

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Please submit an abstract of your paper by
15 March 2024 (maximum 4 pages double-spaced).
Acceptance letters will be sent before April 15, 2024.

A selection of authors presenting outstanding papers will be invited to submit their studies to Special Issues at JBIM and other journals.
